Established on July 19, 1888, Hai Phong Port is the leading seaport in Northern Vietnam, most goods are imported and exported through here.
Hai Phong has 49 ports belonging to Vietnamese seaports (According to the decision to announce the List of ports belonging to Vietnamese seaports by the Ministry of Transport), through which goods can be transported very conveniently and easily via maritime routes to countries around the world; to Vietnam's Economic Zones or Chinese Mam provinces by highway, railway and waterway in the shortest and most effective time.
Current port system:
Equiped with modern equipment serving the port: deep-water wharfs, warehouses and indoor and outdoor warehouse systems with safe operations, able to meet all methods of international trade and transportation.
Component A:
Dredging and preparing channels and roads; Construction of breakwaters, embankments, operating wharves, administrative areas and internal roads.
Component B:
Construction of the first 2 container terminals
Port planning until 2020: area 184.5 hectares
5 container berths with a total length of 1,875m
3 combined berths with a total length of 750m
Capacity: Receiving 50,000 DWT loaded or 100,000 DWT after the vessel offloads.
Goods output: 28.2 - 34.8 million tons/year.
Port planning until 2030: area 508.3 hectares
16 container berths with a total length of 6,000m
7 combined berths with a total length of 1,750m
Capacity: Fully loaded 100,000 DWT.
Goods output: 120 million tons/year.
