(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Through advocacy and propaganda, businesses and people in Hai Phong city have been aware of the importance of installing rooftop solar power systems, many models have been deployed and installed, bringing economic efficiency and environmental protection.
According to Hai Phong city's electricity development plan for the period 2016 - 2025 with a view to 2035, the 110kV power system development plan has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. By 2025, the city is expected to deploy the construction of a number of solar power projects. Specifically, 10MW of solar power at Dinh Vu Industrial Park, research and development of grid-connected solar power at Dinh Vu Industrial Park about 5MW, VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park about 20MW, Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park about 10MW, Bach Long Vy island district is powered by hybrid sources: wind + solar + Diesel + energy storage; in which Diesel generator has a capacity of 2 MVA, wind power 1MW, solar power 500 kWp and energy storage source of 7.48MWh. Long Chau Island, Cat Hai district is expected to be grantedPower by solar battery system with total capacity of 1.65kW. Currently, the power supply project for Bach Long Vy island district is being implemented by the Northern Electricity Corporation, expected to be energized in the second quarter of 2020.

Up to now, in Hai Phong city, there have been nearly 330 customers installing rooftop solar power with a total capacity of 1,832kW, the electricity output to the grid in the first 9 months of 2020 is about 301,808 kWh. In addition, a number of investors in Industrial Parks have been implementing solar power projects on factory roofs such as: Solar exploitation project of DEEP C Green Energy Co., Ltd. in Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai An district with a capacity of 2.1 MW; Solar power project of Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. at VSIP Industrial Park with a capacity of 2MW.
Implement Decision No. 13/2020/QD-TTg dated April 6, 2020 of the Prime Minister on the mechanism to encourage solar power development in Vietnam; Circular No. 18/2020/TT-BCT dated July 17, 2020 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade regulating project development and power purchase contracts applicable to solar power projects, the City People's Committee has issued Document No. 1043/UBND-CT dated May 25, 2020 guiding and directing departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, Hai Phong Electricity Company Limited and other units. related to implementation. In particular, Hai Phong Electricity Company Limited is assigned to connect rooftop solar power systems for people and businesses, ensuring compliance with regulations, creating conditions to encourage customers to install rooftop solar power.
Assign departments and branches to strengthen inspection and guide key energy users in the area to strictly implement legal regulations on economical and efficient use of energy; Gradually research and apply science and technology to achieve the city's goal of increasing the proportion of new and renewable energy sources in the total primary energy supply to about 5% by 2030.
