At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho informed about some outstanding features achieved in the city's socio-economic development, and said that projects in industrial parks and economic zones currently make a very important contribution to the city's economic growth, creating many new industries and products that account for nearly 80% of industrial production value and over 70% of the city's export turnover, contributing increasing budget revenue, expanding markets, increasing the amount of goods passing through the port, improving the competitiveness and international integration of the city's economy.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Tho said that in the first quarter of 2021 alone, the revenue of businesses in economic zones and industrial parks in the city was estimated at 103,453 billion VND, equal to 126% over the same period, reaching 25% of the year's plan; Export value is estimated at 4 billion USD, accounting for 86.6% of the export turnover of the entire city's FDI sector, equal to 131% over the same period, reaching 26% of the year's plan; State budget contribution is estimated at 3,276 billion VND, equal to 110% over the same period and 34% over the year plan.
