(Haiphong.gov.vn) - Continuing the working visit program in Korea, on the morning of April 24, comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Hai Phong city received and worked with leaders of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI); Samsung Engineering Group and SK Group.
Attending the Conference were comrades: Vu Ho, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Korea; Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board. At the meeting with leaders of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau respectfully thanked KCCI for the attention and coordination, especially supporting Hai Phong city in successfully organizing investment promotion activities in Korea, and hoped to continue to receive further support from KCCI. The City Party Secretary emphasized that the city's results in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) have always been at the top of the country in recent years. In particular, the results of attracting foreign direct investment from Korea always reach number 1 in both number of projects and total investment capital in the city. This is proof that Hai Phong city is always proactive and proactive in creating a transparent and open investment environmentairy and attractive. Hai Phong continues to commit to supporting and accompanying Korean investors during project implementation, production and business. Korean enterprises increase investment capital by nearly 400 million USD
Also on the same morning, an Investment Promotion Conference with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry - KCCI took place. Participating in the conference were 120 leading Korean businesses and corporations. This is the third promotion conference organized by the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board in coordination with KCCI, initially bringing about encouraging results in attracting Korean investment to Hai Phong.
Speaking at the conference, City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau emphasized that Hai Phong city has attracted more than 20 investment projects from Korea with a capital of more than 3 billion USD along with the presence of many leading Korean and world investors such as: SK, LG, Posco. Accumulated to date, there are more than 100 investment projects from Korea in Hai Phong with a total capital of 12 billion USD, accounting for 40% of total FDI capital in the city and 14% of total Korean FDI capital throughout Vietnam. Korean businesses in Hai Phong operate production and business operations smoothly and with high efficiency, actively participating in the city's social and security activities. Comrade Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that the above results are clear proof that Hai Phong is a very successful destination.i with investors, especially Korean investors. With the motto: "the success of businesses is the success of Hai Phong city", the Secretary of the City Party Committee believes that after this conference, more Korean investors will be interested, choose and decide to invest in Hai Phong.
At the conference, comrade Le Trung Kien, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, introduced the investment environment and preferential policies of the city for investors, including many Korean businesses investing in Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Hai Phong city.
Korean and Vietnamese businesses also shared their investment experiences in Hai Phong and the operational efficiency of the city's industrial parks and businesses.
In the framework of the Investment Promotion Conference, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd. and Red Star Investment Group Joint Stock Company and the awarding of 8 new Investment Certificates took place; increased investment capital for 6 Korean companies and businesses investing in Hai Phong with a total capital of 370 million USD.

Promoting cooperation in the health sector
On the same afternoon, the City Delegation continued to visit and work with the Korean Trade Association (KITA) and Seegene Medical Foundation (SMF).
Mr. Inho Lee, Standing Vice President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce, received and worked with the delegation. Leaders of the Korean Chamber of Commerce said that KITA was established with the purpose of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to expand trade with foreign markets; support the rights and interests of the Korean trade industry, promote international trade and global cooperation; At the same time, it connects foreign partners and traders and the Korean trading community. KITA has 13 domestic branches and 11 representative offices abroad, including Vietnam. The trade turnover of businesses in the Association is about 1 trillion US dollars.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau hoped to continue to receive further support from KITA, at the same time, develop and deepen the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong city and the Korean Chamber of Commerce. City leaders hope KITA continues to be a bridge calling for KITA members to pay attention to research, new investments and expand investment scale in Hai Phong city.
At the end of the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited the Seegene Medical Foundation (SMF). SMF has provided medical testing services since 1990 with more than 1,000 employees. Among them, the strongest is the activities of the international reference testing unit. In Hai Phong, Seegene Group has had a friendly cooperative relationship with Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy since 2015 in areas such as training high-tech human resources in testing, supporting latent tuberculosis diagnosis...
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau proposed that SMF invest in building a high-tech laboratory in cancer immunotherapy in Hai Phong, as a basis for development nationwide.
