(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of April 23 at the City Convention Center, Business Forum Magazine, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) coordinated with the Vietnam Logistics Services Business Association and the Department of Industry and Trade to organize the Conference "Linking to develop Hai Phong logistics services". The conference aims to find solutions to develop and improve competitiveness for the logistics industry, contributing to proposing development policies and calling for investment in Hai Phong logistics service industry.
Attending the Conference were comrades: Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; with speakers who are leaders, leading experts in the field of logistics and hundreds of logistics businesses inside and outside Hai Phong city.
According to the planning orientation of Hai Phong's logistics service development to 2025 and vision to 2030, the city will develop a variety of services in the logistics chain, in order to increase the value of logistics services for each ton of goods passing through the ports.
Specifically, in the period 2020 - 2030, Hai Phong will build 17 types of services in the chain of logistics activities including: loading and unloading, warehousing to support marine transport, warehousing to support all modes of transport, delivery, transport agents, customs clearance agents, other services, wholesale support, marine transport services, inland waterway transport services, railways, aviation, multimodal transport. methods, inspection, transportation support services...

Hai Phong aims to be the key marine economy of the country and the national logistics service center
Welcoming the Conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho said that Hai Phong is a first-class urban area, the intersection of two economic corridors: Kunming - Lao Cai, Hanoi - Hai Phong and is currently one of the three important economic growth poles of the Northern Key Economic Region, a key focus in the development plan of two belts and one belt between Vietnam and China.
Hai Phong's logistics infrastructure is increasingly improving, with strong investment in seaport and traffic infrastructure, with breakthrough development in a modern and synchronous direction. Hai Phong International Model Port completed the construction of the start-up phase and put into operation lines No. 1 and No. 2, with basic road traffic infrastructure to meet and connect industrial parks with the seaport system. The seaport system is invested in new construction in accordance with the trend of gradually developing into a regional and international logistics service center. In 2020, the output of goods through Hai Phong port reached more than 142 million tons, an average increase of 17.55%, aviation services were also strongly developed with 11 domestic routes and 4 international routes being operated.. Logistics services have gradually received attention, with strong developments in quantity and quality.
However, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also pointed out that currently the results of logistics activities have not fully exploited the city's potential advantages, Hai Phong does not have a logistics center, a large goods receiving and distribution center, service costs are high, service quality and professionalism are not consistent...
The Vice Chairman said that on January 24, 2019, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 45-NQTW on developing Hai Phong city to 2030 with a vision to 2045 to clearly determine that by 2025, Hai Phong city will basically complete the cause of industrialization and modernization to be the key maritime economy of the country and the national logistics service center. By 2030, it will become a modern, smart, and sustainable industrial city of regional stature: a modern international logistics service center by sea, air, highway, high-speed rail...
The Vice Chairman emphasized that today's conference's purpose is to listen to share experiences and contributions from units, agencies, scientists, businesses, especially the opinions of departments, to develop Hai Phong logistics in the coming time.
Taking advantage to make Hai Phong a leading locality in logistics service development
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that according to the new PCI results announced by VCCI, Hai Phong is currently ranked 7th out of 63 provinces and cities, ranked 2nd out of 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta, reaching 69.27 points, up 0.54 points and up 3 places compared to 2019. This is the third time Hai Phong city is in the group of 10 leading provinces and cities in the country and in the group of localities with good economic management quality.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, from a hard infrastructure perspective, with the advantage of being the main gateway to the sea for the entire Northern region, Hai Phong has a strategic location, playing a particularly important role in the development of the Northern and Northern key economic regions. In particular, Hai Phong holds a key position in the "Two Corridors - One Economic Belt" cooperation between Vietnam and China, and is an area with strategic relationships with major growth poles in East Asia and Southeast Asia. However, despite its favorable location and great potential, Hai Phong has not yet fully exploited its existing advantages, has not truly become a leading locality in developing logistics services, and has not taken advantage of its advantages.to contribute to supporting Vietnamese import-export businesses.
