(Haiphong.gov.vn) - Information from the Department of Transport said that the project to restore the pedestrian railway overpass on Cau Dat street will officially start in the coming days, the project is expected to be completed within 50 days and will strive to be completed before the Lunar New Year of the Ox 2021.

This project has not been used for a long time and has seriously degraded and damaged.

The pedestrian bridge over the Hanoi - Hai Phong national railway line across Cau Dat road was built many years ago. The bridge is about 31.96m long, including abutments and steps up and down on both sides about 24.91m long; The main girder section over the railway, about 7.05m long, was dismantled. This project has not been used for a long time and has degraded and damaged, causing loss of urban aesthetics and environmental sanitation.

Regarding the architectural plan of the project, the Department of Transport has coordinated with the International Transport Consulting Joint Stock Company to prepare a plan, according to which the project's architecture is a beam-span bridge, high-quality reinforced concrete arch, combined with pillars and steps made of dark-colored Grannite on the basis of the existing frame structure, while preserving the ancient architecture; Clearance below the arch span from the top of the current rail to the lower edge of the 5.4m high arch; bridge abutment body walls, decorative brick tiles (imitation brick walls)…

People take advantage of the arches of the bridge to do business and trade.

The building's lighting system, including decorative light poles about 4m high, with an ancient, stylized design, is placed on the railings inside; Below the bridge arch, ceiling lights are arranged; Wall lights are mounted in flower beds; Arrange additional flower beds at the foot of the bridge and at the arches of the bridge body to both create landscape and urban beauty while also preventing encroachment on space for business and commerce like today...

The project has a total expected investment of about 2.2 billion VND.
