Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho conducts a field inspection at the construction site.
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of January 13, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho together with leaders of departments, branches, localities and related units inspected the progress of the Rao Bridge Construction Investment Project. This is one of the key works and projects expected to meet the city's development needs in the coming years, creating architectural and landscape highlights at the southern gateway, contributing to changing the city's urban appearance towards civilization and modernity.
Started from mid-October 2020 and officially constructed from December 3, 2020, up to the present time, on the handed over ground, the Rao Bridge Construction Investment Project (including bridge construction, intersections and Lach Tray road technical infrastructure construction) is being implemented by the Project Management Board and the Contractor Consortium to construct 4 TC4 pillars, TC5, TC6 and TC8 within the bus station and roundabout. To construct the project, the total land use area is 20.7 hectares, related to site clearance work of 381 households and 12 organizations in Le Chan, Ngo Quyen, Hai An and Duong Kinh districts. Currently, localities are carrying out procedures to clear land for project construction. Regarding the plan to move infrastructure worksThe underground and surface engineering teams on the route and related units are also coordinating to carry out moving procedures.
Regarding organizing traffic flow and ensuring traffic, the contractor has basically completed the installation of signs, median strips, and signal lights to organize traffic flow for construction purposes. Rao Bridge will officially stop operating from 0:00 on January 14, 2021.

Emphasizing the particularly important significance of the project to the city's trade activities, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho acknowledged the efforts of the investor and contractors who have put in their efforts to actively implement the project. However, in reality the project's workload is very large, especially site clearance work, so the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested localities to urgently coordinate with relevant departments, branches and agencies to conduct compensation work and soon hand over the site for the project, especially in locations within the critical progress path.
From now until January 30, 2021, localities must continue to review and strive to hand over the site to the contractor, and at the same time completely resolve the site area in the bus station area and river beach area (in Ngo Quyen district), the Vice Chairman emphasized.
The Vice President noted that units must proactively develop traffic plans, classify traffic from far away, ensuring convenience and safety; Besides, there is a plan to dismantle the old Rao bridge; Assign functional departments and branches to proactively coordinate and support the movement of technical infrastructure works on the route.
The Vice Chairman also requested the Contractor Consortium to organize reasonable construction to ensure the technical and aesthetic aspects of the project, on the basis of having solutions to ensure traffic safety and occupational safety on the construction site.
