(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of March 10, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho chaired a meeting with leaders of departments, functional branches, localities and relevant units on the situation of site clearance to serve the construction of the Rao bridge project.
Emphasizing his speech at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho stated clearly that the project's construction work basically meets the requirements, specifically out of a total of 28 bridge piers and abutments, currently 7 piers have been completed and 6 piers are under construction; For the construction of technical infrastructure on Lach Tray road, the contractor has accessed the site since March 3, 2021 to prepare for construction. However, the biggest obstacle of the current Project is site clearance work at some locations. Regarding this issue, the Vice Chairman requested localities to focus on removing difficulties and speeding up site clearance work according to the critical progress of the Project.

After listening to the reports of the Departments, branches, localities and the Project Management Board, concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Tho affirmed that this is one of the city's key projects that is expected to meet the city's development needs in the coming years. It is a highlight in architecture and landscape at the southern gateway, contributing to changing the city's urban appearance towards civilization and modernity. Therefore, the project completion plan remains unchanged. With the current difficulties in site clearance work, the Vice Chairman requested localities to focus on solving problems to soon hand over the site to meet the project's progress requirements. Related to land recovery from organizations and individuals in the areaDuong Kinh district, must complete and hand over the site to the construction contractor before March 20, 2021, directed the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.
In addition, the Vice Chairman requested localities to proactively review and plan resettlement arrangements, assigning the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to promptly submit land prices for the city's approval.
Regarding the construction organization plan, the Vice President requested the Project Management Board to coordinate with the Department of Transport to organize traffic flow, add more signs, have a plan to dismantle the old bridge, and at the same time come up with a plan to design trees and lighting. On the other hand, during the construction process, attention should be paid to ensuring safety and focusing on disease prevention measures.
