The reason Hai Phong approved the above proposal is because Rent-A-Port and Belgian investors have had very close cooperation with the locality over the past 16 years.quite successfully implemented the Dinh Vu Industrial Park Project, actively contributing to investment in developing industrial park infrastructure and investment promotion in Hai Phong.
Dinh Vu Industrial Park is an investment project of a Belgian enterprise that is considered the most successful in Vietnam. Here, from an almost pristine beach area, consisting only of marshes and swamps, thanks to a strategic geographical location with convenient transportation by sea, inland waterway, road and near the airport, Dinh Vu peninsula has been planned and attracted investment capital by Hai Phong city to develop into a strategic economic zone of great importance in Northern Vietnam. In particular, Rent-A-Port of Belgium is the main partner cooperating with the City People's Committee. Hai Phong implements this project.
Located in Dong Hai ward, Hai An district, Dinh Vu Industrial Park has a total planning area of about 1,463 hectares. Of which, the general industrial development area is 655 hectares; The deep-water port area is 130 hectares and can accommodate ships of about 50,000 tons; Residential/commercial area of about 65 hectares; The area for developing utility services and green trees is about 613 hectares. The general industrial development area is planned for 145ha of light industry development, 191ha of heavy industry, and 254ha of chemical industry.
Based on planning, hundreds of millions of dollars have been poured into infrastructure development by investors so that Dinh Vu Industrial Park can have a quite convenient technical system of electricity, water, wastewater treatment and communication... This is also the only industrial park in Northern Vietnam that provides investors in the petrochemical sector with a system of liquid cargo wharves and shared pipeline racks; Of which, liquid cargo wharf No. 1 with a design capacity of 10,000 tons has been put into use since 2005.
To date, Dinh Vu Industrial Park has been filled about 70% (phase 1 nearly 200 hectares has been filled; phase 2 development of nearly 400 hectares has been rented by investors about 50%). Many domestic and foreign enterprises from different important industries have come to invest in Dinh Vu Industrial Park. By the end of 2013, Dinh Vu Industrial Park had attracted 52 projects with a total investment capital of 2.2 billion USD. In 2013 alone, Dinh Vu Industrial Park attracted 9 new investment projects with a total investment capital of 800 million USD. Famous brands in the international market already present in Dinh Vu Industrial Park include Nakashima, Bridgestone, Shell, Chevron, Petrolimex, PVOIL, PVTEX, Shin-etsu, Proconco, Toyota Tsusho... It is expected that in 2014, Dinh Vu Industrial Park may attract a number of more investors from Japan.Japan and other countries invested in the project with an estimated capital of about 150 million USD.
Most investors choose Dinh Vu Industrial Park as a place to locate a manufacturing factory or distribution center to take advantage of its strategic location and convenient services as well as attractive tax incentives. In 2013, Bridgestones decided to expand production and double the initial investment capital for the tire factory in Dinh Vu Industrial Park.
Mr. Susumu Yazaki, Director of Bridgestone Group in Vietnam: "Bridgestone decided to invest in Dinh Vu Industrial Park based on assessment and appraisal of the benefits that can be brought to the group through many survey results on infrastructure, strategic location, human resources as well as investment costs...".
