(Haiphong.gov.vn) - According to Resolution 63/NQ-HDND of the City People's Council, which has just approved the investment policy of the investment project to build additional works to improve the quality of Re River water source, with a total expected investment of more than 92 billion VND, from the city budget.
The project aims to supplement freshwater reserves for the Re River from the Cam River and improve the quality of the Re River's water resources, ensuring water supply, aquaculture, animal husbandry, and serving people's livelihood in accordance with the tasks and solutions in Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo, which clearly states the need to "pay special attention and focus on the protection of natural resources and ecological environment; improve the capacity to forecast and warn of natural disasters and proactively respond." with climate change and sea level rise.
The project's investment scale includes: Wastewater collection and drainage at Ho Dong discharge points, Hong Phong commune and Kinh Giao village, Tan Tien commune, An Duong district. In particular, build a regulating sewer at the beginning of Kinh Giao canal and build a new Kinh Giao pumping station; New construction of Ho Dong pumping station and wastewater drainage pipeline from Ho Dong pumping station to Hoang Lau canal; Construction of pipeline through An Kim Hai canal branch 1. Handling congestion of Hoang Lau canal, upgrading culverts across road 17B, upgrading culverts across the border of Trang Due Industrial Park; Build a drainage line from Bac Nam Hung canal to Cam river and build Kim Xa sewer (through National Highway 5, Hanoi - Hai Phong railway).
Project location is in An Duong district and Hong Bang district. Project implementation time: 2022 - 2023.
The City People's Committee organizes the formulation, appraisal, approval and implementation of the project in accordance with the provisions of the Public Investment Law and relevant laws. Inspect, review, identify waste discharge points and thoroughly collect and treat them within the scope of influence of the project, especially the drainage route from Bac Nam Hung canal to Cam river.
Currently, the water source for Hai Phong's domestic water production is mainly taken from the Re River in the An Kim Hai irrigation system and the Da Do River. The water sources of these two rivers are providing raw water to produce clean water to serve 80% of the population in the inner city of Hai Phong.
