The country's economy faces many difficulties and challenges after being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the city's gross product (GRDP) is estimated at 190,768.8 billion VND, an increase of 11.22% over the same period last year, ranking 2nd in the country. Of which, the industry-construction sector increased by 16.59%; agriculture-forestry-fishery increased by 2.35%; The service sector increased by 5.64%. Total state budget revenue in the city is estimated at 84,199.2 billion VND, of which domestic revenue reached 30,000 billion VND, equal to 111.05% over the same period; Balanced revenue from import and export activities reached 50,000 billion VND, equal to 83.89% over the same period last year.
In addition, from the beginning of the year to December 15, 2020, the whole city had 75 new foreign investment (FDI) projects from 15 countries and territories, 26 projects adjusted to increase capital, so the total FDI investment capital reached more than 1.4 billion USD.
In construction investment, due to the priority of focusing investment resources, contributing to changing the appearance of the city, the city's estimated realized investment capital in 2020 reached 171,708.7 billion VND, an increase of 14% over the same period in 2019.
In 2020, the city created jobs for 55,400 workers, an increase of 0.91% compared to 2019; The rate of the workforce participating in social insurance reached 40.15%.
