Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung received the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of April 20, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung received and paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Yamada Takio, Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam. Also attending were leaders of departments, branches and units: Office of the City People's Committee, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Finance, Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board.

At the reception, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung expressed his joy to welcome Mr. Yamada Takio, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam and highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general, and between Hai Phong and Japanese localities in particular. The Chairman of the City People's Committee announced some basic features of the city's recent socio-economic development, especially the effectiveness in preventing the COVID-19 epidemic. He emphasized: Japan is one of Hai Phong's strategic partners with many important projects being implemented related to economic cooperation, investment, infrastructure construction, education - training, healthcare, serving thesocio-economic development of the city. The Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, Japanese businesses will continue to strengthen investment cooperation in Hai Phong and open flight routes connecting Hai Phong - Japan, creating favorable conditions for exchange and promoting economic, cultural and social development between Hai Phong and Japanese localities.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio thanked Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung for the respectful welcome, wishing that the friendly cooperative relationship between Japan and Vietnam in general, and between Japan and Hai Phong city in particular, will increasingly develop comprehensively and deeply.
