According to the report at the Conference, the city currently has 1,829 businesses participating in import-export activities, accounting for 9% of the total of more than 20,000 businesses carrying out import-export procedures in Hai Phong, contributing to the city 5,192 billion VND in taxes (accounting for 11.28% of the total taxes of the entire Hai Phong City Customs Department).
At the Conference, the attending delegates had many opinions, assessed the current situation and proposed solutions to further improve the favorable investment and business environment in the city through import and export activities.
Speaking at the Conference, comrade Le Khac Nam highly appreciated the efforts of the industries, especially the Customs industry and businesses involved in export, to overcome the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, maintain operations, and create revenue for the State budget.
He stated clearly that the city has been and will be focusing fiercely on mobilizing resources for infrastructure investment, developing seaport service centers and logistics centers to create a favorable investment and business environment for businesses operating in the field of import and export to carry out Customs procedures in Hai Phong.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam requested the City Customs Department, relevant departments, branches and units to continue focusing on promoting administrative reform, especially administrative procedures, reducing time and costs for businesses.
At the same time, strengthen closer coordination to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, propagate and mobilize businesses to carry out Customs procedures in Hai Phong, along with promoting the fight against smuggling and trade fraud.
