At the meeting, the Province proposed that the Ministry of Planning and Investment continue to pay attention and support, including considering and approving the Province to apply the mechanism of land allocation and lease without auctioning land use rights to implement tourism infrastructure development projects and industrial park infrastructure business; Supporting projects to celebrate the 100th birthday of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet such as the Provincial Convention Center project, Vo Van Kiet Street project; Support urgent projects to overcome landslides; Urgent projects belong to the province's medium-term public investment plan and investment promotion conference activities in 2018.
Vinh Long Province proposed that the Central Government soon implement urgent traffic projects in the province such as National Highway 53 and National Highway 54 and support funding to implement urgent projects under the medium-term public investment plan that the Province is unable to balance such as Provincial Road 902 and Provincial Road 908 projects. Minister Nguyen Chi Dung acknowledged the socio-economic development results achieved by the Province in 2017 as well as the Province's recommendations.
Noting some issues that need attention, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung shared that the Government is assigning the Ministry of Planning and Investment to re-plan the Mekong Delta to face the challenges and effects of current climate change. Accordingly, the Province needs to pay attention to re-planning the development areas of each locality to suit the new situation.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that agriculture is still the pillar in the economic development of Vinh Long province in the coming time, therefore, in addition to developing industry and services, the province needs to accelerate the process of restructuring the agricultural sector. In implementation, the Province focuses on strong segments and specific local products, avoiding ineffective spreading. In addition, the structure needs attention in the direction of creating a breakthrough, from agricultural production to agricultural economics, combining high-tech agriculture with high economic efficiency...
The Minister of Planning and Investment said that Vietnam is welcoming a new wave of investment from foreign corporations and businesses. Therefore, Vinh Long province needs to prepare well the necessary favorable conditions in terms of administrative procedures, business investment environment, preferential policies, high quality human resources... to attract investment resources from businesses to rapidly develop the local economy and society./.
