(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 8, at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the city's Labor Confederation (LDL) organized a conference to praise 95 "For the Workers" businesses and 95 typical grassroots union officials; Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).

At the Conference, Trade Union officials at all levels together reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union over 95 years of formation and development, along with outstanding results in the labor movement of workers and civil servants and Trade Union activities of Hai Phong city. Thereby, clearly demonstrating the spirit of courageous struggle and creative labor, excellently completing tasks in each revolutionary period, while constantly developing and becoming a large organization, which affirms the significant role of grassroots trade union officials, as well as leaders of agencies, units, and businesses in recent times.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the City Confederation of Labor, affirmed that to achieve those results, generations of city union officials have strived, proactively and creatively deployed synchronous solutions to implement the direction and guidance of the Hai Phong City Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; with the attention and coordination of units and businesses in the city.

He emphasized that 2024 is an important year for trade union activities in the context that Vietnam continues to participate extensively in free trade agreements and international labor conventions. To continue to innovate, improve the quality of operations, and successfully and comprehensively implement the set goals and tasks of the year's work program, the Chairman of the City Confederation of Labor requested all levels of the city's trade unions to regularly pay attention to the material and spiritual lives of union members; listen to the thoughts and aspirations, promptly share and participate in resolving legal and legitimate recommendations of union members, workers and employees.
At the same time, trade unions at all levels continue to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions, and build strong grassroots trade unions; better promote patriotic emulation movements; Promote the application of information technology in exchanging information on the labor situation, life and employment of workers as well as grassroots union activities with the direct superior union and the city's Confederation of Labor; Strengthen management, inspection, and supervision of financial revenues and expenditures, building strong enough resources to meet the tasks of trade unions.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister presented the Emulation Flag to the Hai Phong City Labor Confederation for its outstanding achievements in the 2023 emulation movement, contributing to building socialism and protecting the Fatherland. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Medal "For the cause of building trade unions" to 142 leaders of departments and specialized trade union officials in the city who have meritorious service in leading, directing, coordinating work, or supporting and actively contributing to the cause of building and developing the Vietnam Trade Union organization. The City Confederation of Labor awarded Certificates of Merit to 95 outstanding union officials with outstanding achievements contributing to building a strong trade union organization; Awarded Certificates of Merit to 95 typical businesses with outstanding achievements in taking care of union members and workers.
