(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Continuing the activities during the business trip in China, on August 8, the city leadership delegation led by comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation visited Uncle Ho's House Relics in Kunming city, Yunnan province and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming.
Participating in the delegation were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and leaders of the city's departments, branches and branches. Also attending were leaders of the Foreign Affairs Department of Yunnan province and Ngu Hoa area, Kunming city.

“Red address” of President Ho Chi Minh in China
The relic is located in the middle of Nam Hoa Son street, from houses number 89 to number 91, including 3 floors, brick and wood structure, located right near the headquarters of the People's Government of Ngu Hoa area, Kunming city. Here, the city's delegation heard an introduction to the time Uncle Ho worked in the revolution in China before he returned home in 1941. President Ho Chi Minh's old residence was one of the places where revolutionary activists sought to save the country in the years 1940-1941. While here, President Ho Chi Minh met with the country's revolutionaries Pham Van Dong and Vo Nguyen Giap in Kunming to discuss important events of the Vietnamese revolution. The relic displays many precious images and documents of President Ho Chi Minh during his time living and working here.
With important historical, cultural, and traditional educational values, in 2011, the old house – President Ho Chi Minh's residence was recognized as a Kunming city-level cultural relic. In 2019, the house was recognized as a Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relic. This relic and other relics of President Ho Chi Minh's former residence in China have become symbols of Vietnam-China friendship and are common cultural assets of the two countries.
In order to inherit and promote the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, on May 19, 2022, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Culture and Tourism of Yunnan Province in coordination with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming held a groundbreaking ceremony to restore the relic site of President Ho Chi Minh's former residence and inaugurate it and put it into operation from March 24, 2023. The relic site is not only a tourist attraction for Vietnamese tourists when coming to Kunming city, but also a "red address" to educate about revolutionary traditions as well as Uncle Ho's active career during his years abroad.
Connecting local trade
Late afternoon of the same day, the delegation worked with comrade Hoang Minh Son, Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming city, Yunnan province, China.
Sincerely thank the support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming for cooperation activities between Hai Phong and Yunnan province in recent years. Comrade Party Secretary Le Tien Chau also informed about the economic and social situation of the city. 2023 is the 9th consecutive year that Hai Phong has achieved a GRDP growth index nearly double the national average. The city also completed and exceeded many targets set for the year. In the first 6 months of 2024, Hai Phong attracted over 1.5 billion USD in foreign investment. To date, in the city there are 975 valid foreign investment projects with a total registered investment capital of 30.65 billion USD. China is currently the 2nd country in terms of total investment projects and 4th in total registered investment capital among 39 countries.ia and territories making investments in Hai Phong. Chinese enterprise projects invest mainly in the following fields: manufacturing and processing industry; investment and business in industrial park infrastructure and real estate; buying and selling commercial goods. Along with that, the Secretary of the City Party Committee also informed the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming about the situation of cooperation with Yunnan province, cooperation activities in the past, as well as expected cooperation plans in the near future. Comrade Secretary of the City Party Committee hopes that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming will support calling for investment in production projects applying high technology with modern, environmentally friendly management levels associated with digital transformation and innovation.
Comrade Hoang Minh Son, Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming congratulated the achievements that Hai Phong has achieved recently, and emphasized: Hai Phong is a locality that attracts many leading Chinese businesses and corporations, initially bringing positive results, contributing to strengthening cooperation between Hai Phong and China. The Consulate General will accompany and support the city in calling for work with organizations and investors and be a bridge to promote businesses of Yunnan province to learn about Hai Phong's investment environment, especially strengthening cooperation in logistics development and trade connections to effectively promote the cooperation program between the two economic corridors Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh - Lao Cai - Kunming, China./.
