In the delegation of Mr. Roberta Fica, Prime Minister of Slovakia, visiting Vietnam earlier this week, there were 18 accompanying businesses, in particular, there were 10 businesses operating in the fieldinformation technology (IT), in which, there have been businesses cooperating with each other.
During this trip to Vietnam, a number of cooperation contracts between Vietnamese and Slovak telecommunications enterprises were signed.
Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and the Company's investment financeSlavia Capital Services (SCS) of Slovakia signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two parties. Accordingly, SCS of Slovakia will cooperate and support VNPT in promoting trade and investment in Slovakia as well as introducing Slovak telecommunications and IT companies. At the same time, providing IT application solutions and software for VNPT, especially in the fields of e-government, environmental resources, health care, social insurance, establishing international voice traffic exchange between Vietnam and EU countries...
Another Vietnamese technology company, FPT, has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Slovak Institute of Informatics (Informatics, Sovak Academy of Sciences – IIAS). Accordingly, FPT and IIAS will cooperate in research, development, and improvement of IT services and products in the fields of Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Information Security. At the same time, FPT will use research results and in-depth knowledge from IIASS to improve the products and services provided to customers. FPT will also support IIISAS in other projects in Vietnam and around the world.
Slovakia is one of FPT's key IT service delivery centers for the European and global markets. In 2014, FPT acquired RWE IT, the company providing internal IT services of Europe's leading energy group RWE, and changed its name to FPT Slovakia. This not only helps FPT improve its capacity to provide and consult on SAP solutions and "Smart Home" solutions, but also helps expand its global customer base.
Talking with reporters from Online Investment Newspaper - Baodautu.vn at the signing ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc Long, General Director of VNPT Group said that after restructuring, VNPT promoted its investment strategy in the international market. Expanding markets, seeking international investment and business opportunities have been actively promoted and gradually developed by VNPT, especially in countries with traditional relations with Vietnam, including Slovakia, a country with a community of over 5,000 Vietnamese people living and working. "The Vietnamese community in Slovakia are potential customers and a bridge for VNPT to penetrate the market and Vietnamese communities in EU countries," Mr. Long said.
Mr. Ngo Hung Tin, Deputy General Director of VNPT Group, said that VNPT will coordinate with Slovak businesses to not only do business in this market but also target the European market. In particular, facing future technology trends (IoT), VNPT owns the world's leading IoT platform. Besides, VNPT wants to cooperate in research and development to produce equipment for export to the European market.
And Mr. Duong Dung Trieu, Deputy General Director of FPT also revealed: "We want to coordinate with Slovak businesses to bring appropriate services to the Vietnamese market such as e-government and television solutions. In the opposite direction, FPT wants to cooperate in providing cheap software services to customers in Slovakia and the European market."
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of MobiFone, shared that with nearly 40 million subscribers and 4 main business segments, including telecommunications & IT - television - distribution & retail - multi-service, MobiFone wants to cooperate with Slovak businesses in the fields of television and retail.
At the meeting with the Slovak business delegation, Slovak businesses also introduced the potential that Vietnamese and Slovak businesses can cooperate in such as the field of e-government, IT applications in the banking industry, aviation or television program production...
Cooperation contracts and memoranda of understanding have been signed, and bilateral meetings between Slovak and Vietnamese businesses have been conducted effectively. This is a good sign for the Vietnamese IT market.
It can be seen that targeting Europe, a large potential market for exporting technology products, is the "target" of Vietnamese technology companies. A new beginning, a new direction for the technology field, a field that is too competitive in a "tight fit" of the domestic market.
