The Prime Minister has just approved the project list "Supporting the first climate change and green growth program" with loans from the World Bank (WB).
Responding to climate change is an issue that the Government has focused on directing recently
The goal of Project is to support the development and implementation of strategies and policies, strengthen institutions and improve capacity finance to serve the implementation of the National Strategy on Climate Change, the Strategy national green growth and Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW dated June 3, 2013 of the Central Executive Committee on proactively responding to climate change, strengthening resource management and environmental protection.
Accordingly, a policy framework for the period 2016 - 2020 will be developed and implemented; Policy dialogue forums between Government agencies, non-governmental organizations, development partners, research agencies, and other economic sectors are organized.
A number of greenhouse gas emission mitigation mechanisms have been piloted in some localities; Sectoral policies are shared, creating a synergistic effect in responding to national climate change...
The above project will be implemented in 5 years (2016 - 2020) with the first WB IDA capital worth 90 million USD.
