Implementing the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Delegates in 2015, on the afternoon of February 1, the City Election Committee held a conference to hand over dossiers of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and candidates for the 17th City People's Council, term 2026–2031.
Attending the Conference were comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the City Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vice Chairman of the city's Election Committee.
At the Conference, representatives of the City Election Committee handed over complete documents of 33 candidates for the 16th National Assembly and 157 candidates for the 17th City People's Council, term 2026–2031 to the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the 2015 Law on Election of National Assembly and People's Council deputies.
Speaking at the Conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Duc Tuan emphasized that handing over candidate files is an important step in the election preparation process, contributing to ensuring the people's right to ownership, and at the same time selecting qualified, capable, and reputable delegates to represent the will and aspirations of Hai Phong city voters at the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
The submitted dossier sets must be complete in quantity, have the right composition, be strict in content, and reflect honestly and accurately the information of each candidate; The handover was carried out publicly, transparently, in accordance with the order and procedures, creating a basis for the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to implement the next consultation steps according to regulations.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee requested that, immediately after the Conference, the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee proactively synthesize and organize consultation steps according to the plan, ensuring democracy, objectivity, and legality, contributing to the overall success of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and 17th term of the City People's Council, term 2026–2031./.
