On the morning of December 30, at the headquarters of the City People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh chaired a reception and working session with a delegation of Bangladeshi officials and civil servants who came to research and survey in Hai Phong within the framework of international cooperation, training, and administrative science research activities of the Vietnam National Academy of Public Administration led by Mr. Probir Kumar Chakraborty, Head of the Institute of Local Government of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Also attending were leaders of the Department of Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh and representatives of the Department of Home Affairs introduced to the delegation the main features of the city's potential, position and socio-economic development situation in recent years, especially the outstanding achievements that Hai Phong has achieved in administrative reform with breakthrough solutions and specific steps.
Next, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee answered questions and proposals of the Bangladesh delegation interested in issues related to: Solutions for tourism development, expanding the investment environment, building Hai Phong into a green port city, labor and union activities at the Port, main goods through Hai Phong port; Opportunities for military cooperation between Hai Phong and Bangladesh in the coming time, especially in the field of aviation; quantity of goods exported to China through Hai Phong Port; land and urban management; housing for the poor…
On behalf of the Bangladesh delegation, Mr. Probir Kumar Chakraborty respectfully expressed his sincere gratitude for the respectful, warm welcome and creation of favorable conditions for the students of the delegation to have the opportunity to study, research, and exchange valuable experiences of the city for the delegation. Mr. Probir Kumar Chakraborty emphasized that the learning experiences and lessons learned from the practical trip to Hai Phong will help the delegation's students improve their state administrative management capacity and apply it well in Bangladesh.
