In his opening speech at the Conference, Mr. Le Quoc Tien - Director of the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, who has spent time living and studying in Japan, said: Facing the city's trend of economic cooperation with foreign countries, including Japan, the need for human resources capable of using Japanese is an increasingly urgent requirement for the city's overall development. Learning Japanese will help students have the opportunity to find scholarships in Japan, increase job opportunities at Japanese businesses, and help them expand their future with more job positions. He hopes that Japanese language training will be expanded to many of the above schoolscity area, especially high schools.
Implementing the direction of all levels and departments, from the 2015 - 2016 school year, Chu Van An Secondary School has introduced Japanese language into teaching on an increasingly expanding scale. To date, the school has established a Japanese club for grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. The Japanese Club was established by 6 students from Nagasaki Prefecture in the Japanese language associate program directly guiding the activities.
During these school years, the school has successfully organized many extracurricular activities about Japanese such as: Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange festival, Japanese speech contest, participating in the city-level seminar "Vietnam - Japan Friendship Bridge", welcoming a group of students from Japan's APU University to practice, participating in the Haiku poetry competition organized by Japan Airlines and having 1 poem in the top 30 entries. National honors... Also in these years, the number of students passing into the Japanese specialized class at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted continuously increased, including 01 valedictorian. In addition, there are also students passing the Japanese major at the Foreign Language Specialized School - University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University.
Vietnam - Japan Festival is a highlight in the school's Japanese learning and extracurricular activities. To prepare for this activity, since October, Japanese classes have developed plans with many diverse forms of activities. The movement also spread with the participation of all classes. By the last days of November, the festive atmosphere was bustling throughout the school. Bilingual musical performances, costumed characters, creative competitions: painting, Japanese-style fashion design... were launched enthusiastically and enthusiastically in the classes. Along with the activities of learning and recreating the beauty of Japanese culture, there are contents introducing Vietnamese cultural identity.
