The Prime Minister issued Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated May 20, 2024 on continuing to promote reduction and simplification of administrative procedures at ministries, branches and localities to serve people and businesses. Accordingly, one of the key contents requested by the Prime Minister is to ensure the necessary conditions to convert to using VNeID as the only account in implementing administrative procedures and providing public services in the electronic environment according to Decree No. 59/2022/ND-CP September 5, 2022 of the Government.
The above requirement was made by the Prime Minister in the current context that each user often has many public service accounts issued by different ministries, branches and localities, causing many inconveniences such as difficulty managing personal information, having to remember many transaction accounts and passwords.
“VNeID” is an application on digital devices created and developed by the Ministry of Public Security to serve electronic identification and electronic authentication activities in handling administrative procedures, public administrative services and other transactions in the electronic environment; Develop utilities to serve agencies, organizations and individuals.
VNeID not only brings practical benefits to the people but also plays a particularly important role in state management; helps reduce waste and errors in using traditional documents, saving costs and time for people and the government.
Accordingly, organizations and individuals when using online public services and other utilities on the National Business Registration Portal will log in with a VNeID account. For previously registered accounts, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has instructions for that registered account to be linked to the user's VNeID account.
