(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Van Thanh recently received and worked with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Vietnam – Mr. Lutfor Rahman shared experiences and cooperation between the two localities in the coming time.

Welcoming Mr. Lutfor Rahman, Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, to visit and work in Hai Phong. Director of the Department of Industry and Trade informed that by 2023, Hai Phong's total export turnover will reach 31 billion USD, total import turnover will reach 30 billion USD, playing an important role in the economic development of the country. Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade is also the only Department of Industry and Trade in the country authorized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to issue certificates of origin. Hai Phong currently has 14 Industrial Parks, 16 Industrial Clusters and especially Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone with many specific mechanisms for investors, bringing together many large businesses from Japan, Korea, China, America, Europe... to invest; There are many highly developed shipbuilding enterprises such as Bach ShipyardDang, Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company, especially Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company, has a joint venture with Damen Group of the Netherlands.
The Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade also said that with the orientation of increasing foreign investment attraction, Hai Phong is submitting to the Government to establish a second economic zone of about 22,000 hectares located in the south of Hai Phong. The Director of the Department of Industry and Trade hopes that during his term, Ambassador Lutfor Rahman will support the promotion of investment cooperation between the two sides.

The Ambassador learned that the Maritime University in Hai Phong is famous for training human resources in the field of maritime logistics in the region. The Ambassador hopes that in the future, many Bangladeshi students will come to study and exchange with students of the Maritime University. Along with that, Hai Phong has many highly developed shipbuilding enterprises, but lacks human resources, while Bangladesh has available human resources for maritime logistics with reasonable labor costs. Cooperation in logistics human resourcesMaritime tics between the two sides will contribute to enhancing the economic development of both countries.
