The Vietnamese government always listens, cares, and creates favorable conditions for foreign businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam, including American businesses.
Today (May 24), at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Business Council US-ASEAN (US-ABC), led by Mr. Keith Williams, Chairman of the Council.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always want to promote comprehensive cooperation with the US, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment.
In particular, businesses play an important role in the cooperation between Vietnam and the US, the Prime Minister emphasized, and also stated that the Vietnamese Government always listens, cares, and creates all conditions for foreign businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam, including American businesses.
“I hope the US-ASEAN Business Council will create all conditions and support for Vietnamese businesses,” the Prime Minister said.
Thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation, Mr. Keith Williams, Chairman of US-ABC, welcomed the Vietnamese Government for removing barriers and taking many measures to support businesses in investment and business.
"The fact that the Vietnamese Government has just issued a resolution on supporting business development is an extremely strong and encouraging message for the business community, not only in Vietnam but also abroad," Mr. Keith Williams expressed.
Congratulations to Vietnam on signing the TPP Agreement. Mr. Keith Williams believes that Vietnam will be a model for implementing this agreement. "The US business community will make efforts to promote and lobby the US Congress to soon ratify the TPP Agreement," Mr. Keith Williams pledged.
He also said that in the past short time, the US-ASEAN Business Council has signed 3 cooperation agreements with the Vietnamese side, focusing on 3 areas: supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), medicine and health care, and responding to climate change; affirmed that he will coordinate closely with VCCI in promoting support for Vietnamese SMEs.
According to Mr. Keith Williams, SMEs currently have a fundamental difference: they can start a business at low cost and the new formula for success is small capital combined with great intelligence. This is also an advantage of Vietnamese businesses.
In addition, Mr. Keith Williams also raised ideas for cooperation on digital economic development and renewable energy.
Recognizing the comments of US-ABC Chairman, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed US-ABC's support for Vietnamese SMEs.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the idea of US-ABC coordinating with VCCI to establish the US-ASEAN Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, located in Vietnam, and assigned VCCI to coordinate with US-ABC to properly implement this issue./.
