IHI Sadao Degawa Group (Japan) has just inaugurated the IHI Infrastructure Asia (IIA) factory in Dinh Industrial Park Vu, dThis is the Group's newest steel structure production facility in Dinh Vu Industrial Park - Hai Phong. Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Dan Duc Hiep attended.
With a total investment capital of 34 million USD, this factory with an area of 140,000 m2 will produce steel structures to supply key bridge construction projects, thermal power plants, and construction machinery for the global IHI group.
Mr. Sadao Degawa, Vice President and Senior Managing Director of IHI Group, said: "The IIA factory coming into operation will help IHI Group meet domestic demand for high-quality steel structures, serving infrastructure and other construction development projects in the shortest time while optimizing the ability to meet the specific requirements of each customer."
According to design, this factory is capable of supplying 9,000 tons of steel when it reaches maximum capacity at the end of this year. IIA Factory plays an important role in the strategy of welcoming new business opportunities for IHI heavy industry group when the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is established. The factory is expected to export half of its products in the future, especially to serve large-scale projects.
In addition to this direct investment project with experience in the fields of infrastructure, energy, machinery, equipment..., IHI has been participating in a series of large transportation infrastructure projects in Vietnam, such as the construction projects of Nhat Tan bridge, Binh bridge, and renovation of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway system. Steel mills, paper mills, Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster, Tien Sa port... are also provided equipment or participated in construction by IHI.
