At the working session, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho expressed his pleasure to welcome the US Embassy Delegation to visit and work in Hai Phong. The Vice President emphasized that over the past years, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the United States in general and Hai Phong city in particular has always been sustainable and developed strongly. Within the framework of the Indo-Pacific Business Forum taking place in Hanoi on October 28 - 29, 2020, in addition to announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Exxon Mobil Company (USA), the City People's Committee and JERA Company (Japan), city leaders also had a working session with the US Embassy on the prospects of cooperation between the two sides in the near future.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho thanked Mr. Eric Hsu for introducing the issues and areas that the city is currently very concerned about. The Vice Chairman emphasized that Hai Phong city is currently paying special attention to traffic issues, specifically smart traffic models, in the fields of health, education and IT, the city wishes to invest and reform strongly to serve socio-economic development. The Vice Chairman supported USTDA in coming up with product ideas, and at the same time assigned the city's functional branches to coordinate with the Working Group to propose specific projects, on that basis to build a long-term cooperation program to bring high efficiency.
