On the morning of April 23 in Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the National Steering Committee for International Integration, chaired a national online conference on strengthening proactive, creative, and effective international integration for rapid and sustainable development. Participating in the conference were relevant ministries, central departments, international organizations and 63 provinces and cities attending the online conference. International integration has made an important contribution to the great achievements of more than 30 years of Doi Moi and is increasingly expanding in many fields, from economics to culture, society, defense, security, and foreign affairs. From the initial stage of international economic integration, Vietnam has achieved many achievements and confidently moved forward with international integration as concretized in Politburo Resolution No. 22 with the content of proactive comprehensive integration on 3 pillars: Politics – defense – security, economy, science – education -cultural – social. The 12th Congress determined to "strongly deploy a proactive strategic direction and actively integrate internationally". The Government has concretized the policy of international integration through many resolutions, directives, decisions and related documents, and at the same time drastically directed and organized the strong and effective implementation of international integration, creating the most favorable environment and conditions for economic and social development. The Prime Minister also affirmed: International integration has contributed significantly to the great achievements in socio-economic development in the past 5 years. The biggest thing is that we have maintained a peaceful environment, political and social stability, and proactively integrated internationally, attracting more external resources along with domestic internal resources to create a driving force for national development. However, at the Conference, the Prime Minister requested to be clearly aware of the problemsExisting issues and limitations need to be overcome to "strengthen proactive, creative, and effective international integration for rapid and sustainable development" as the theme of the Conference. At the conference, in addition to the speeches of the leaders of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee; Delegates focused on evaluating the implementation of the Party's resolutions on international integration over the past 5 years. Analyze and forecast international and domestic situations, especially opportunities, advantages, difficulties, and challenges from now to 2020 and in the next 5 and 10 years. At the same time, clearly define the vision, goals, and strategic directions for integration work. The city actively cooperates with 45 non-governmental organizations to support the implementation of projects to well implement social security and natural disaster prevention such as the Global Fund project, the US Health Care Fund; Actively support universities in the city in training foreign students… Therefore, the city's socio-economic indicators have developed strongly and breakthroughs: GRDP growth rate in recent years increased from 14 - 16% compared to the previous year; Annual export turnover reaches over 8.2 billion USD, export markets reach over 130 countries and territories; Attracting foreign direct investment reached over 18 billion USD, with 521 businesses and 582 active projects, contributing 35% of total social investment, contributing over 20% of the city's domestic revenue; attracts nearly 8 million tourists, of which nearly 1 million foreign visitors/year. In the coming time, the city will continue to strengthen propaganda and direct the effective implementation of Programs and Plans to implement Resolution 22 of the Politburo; continue to focus investment resources and upgrade infrastructure; proactively expand international relations and cooperation activities, focusing on countries: Japan, Korea, the United States, EU and ASEAN countries. At the same time, the city also strengthens its defense potential, ensures security and order in the area, and ensures foreign security; Improve the staff working on international integration.
