On the afternoon of December 14, the Government delegation led by comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, visited and worked at the VinFast Factory Complex and Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port (HHIT).
The next city leaders to work with the delegation were: Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.
At the meeting, VinFast reported the breakthrough achievements of 2025, affirming that the strategy of converting to a "pure electric" model is completely correct. The 335-hectare production complex in Dinh Vu, applying the most modern Industry 4.0 technology in Southeast Asia, has helped VinFast achieve record sales: for the first time, exceeding the milestone of 100,000 electric cars sold in Vietnam in 9 months, with revenue reaching 662 million USD. VinFast is also determined to increase the localization rate to over 80% by 2026 and strongly expand the global market with factories about to open in India and Indonesia.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh expressed his impression, emphasizing that VinFast is a pioneering enterprise with strategic vision, actively contributing to realizing Vietnam's Net Zero commitment and building a national brand with international standing. The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that assigning key projects to the private sector such as VinFast is a strategic decision of the country, and expressed his trust and commitment that the Government will support policies, resources and train high-quality human resources for VinFast to continue to rise.
HHIT Port is the first "green port - smart port" in Vietnam, capable of receiving the world's largest ships and traveling directly from the farthest places such as the West and East coasts of the United States as well as Europe and India. With modern technologies such as NAVIS N4, OCR, 5G and advanced machinery (STS, eRTG), Hateco Port has optimized operations, improved productivity, and minimized CO2 emissions.
The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the excellent achievements of the port project No. 5 and Lach Huyen No. 6, which has been in operation since February 2025 and achieved a total output of nearly 800,000 TEUs. In particular, Hateco Port is highly appreciated for its pioneering application of high technology: deploying the STS crane OCR system to help loading and unloading productivity skyrocket from an average of 18 containers/hour/crane up to 30 containers/hour/crane, and operating the first fully automatic gate system in Vietnam, shortening truck turnaround time to under 16 minutes.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister is especially interested in developing green ports and automation to maximize the port's productivity and attractiveness. Affirming that the development potential of Hai Phong port is huge, the Deputy Prime Minister expects throughput throughput will soon reach 15-20 million TEUs/year in the next 5 years and encourages Hateco to continue expanding its scale and targeting other sea areas, not just stopping at Lach Huyen.
The Deputy Prime Minister pledged that the Government will continue to accompany and create the most open and friendly conditions for high-tech enterprises like VinFast and Hateco to breakthrough./.
