(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with Vietnam – Bulgaria (February 8, 1950 – February 8, 2020) and 20 years of establishment of the Vietnam Friendship Association – Bulgaria of Hai Phong city (June 24, 2000 – June 24, 2020), on the morning of June 21, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh City received and paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Marinela Petkova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Vietnam, and the Embassy delegation. Attending were leaders of departments, branches and related units.

At the reception and courtesy visit, Ms. Marinela Petkova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Vietnam, thanked the city leaders for the respectful welcome. The Ambassador hopes that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria in general, and between Bulgaria and Hai Phong in particular, will increasingly develop comprehensively and deeply.

Speaking at the courtesy call, on behalf of the city's leaders, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh thanked Ms. Marinela Petkova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Vietnam for coming to pay courtesy calls and attend the meeting to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria (February 8, 1950 - February 8, 2020) and 20 Year of establishment of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association in Hai Phong city (June 24, 2000 - June 24, 2020). Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh introduced some basic features of the city's socio-economic development situation and wished that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Bulgaria and Hai Phong city would grow more deeply and sustainably. Especially cooperation in various fieldslogistics, information technology, tourism, education, health care and trade to promote the potential and advantages of Bulgaria and Hai Phong city. At the same time, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hai Phong city to exchange information with Bulgaria about the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), creating favorable conditions for Bulgarian and Hai Phong businesses to access incentives in import and export that the Agreement brings.
