On the morning of July 15, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong received Mr. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines in Vietnam, and the Embassy Delegation to pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of the City People's Committee and discuss the environment and investment attraction policies of Hai Phong.
Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of functional departments and branches of the city.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong welcomed Ambassador Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III and the Delegation to visit and work in Hai Phong city; At the same time, an overview of outstanding results in socio-economic development, competitive advantages, development orientation as well as mechanisms and policies to attract investment of the city is introduced. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Hai Phong always attaches importance to expanding international cooperation, creating an open and favorable investment environment, and is ready to accompany foreign businesses and investors, including Philippine businesses.
Ambassador Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III thanked the city leaders for the respectful welcome, expressed his impression with Hai Phong's development achievements and wished to strengthen connections and promote cooperation between Philippine localities and businesses with the city in potential fields such as trade, investment, logistics, seaports, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides discussed the situation of cooperation between Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation between Hai Phong and Philippine partners in the coming time. The year 2026 marks 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Philippines (1976 - 2026). The two countries have officially upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, creating a foundation to promote extensive cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, defense - security, trade, investment, agriculture, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong expressed his belief that the Ambassador's visit and work will contribute to further strengthening the friendly cooperation between Hai Phong and Philippine localities and businesses, contributing positively to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Philippines./.
