On the afternoon of March 24, at the City Convention Center, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong chaired a meeting and worked with the Delegation of Guangxi Big Data Development Department (China) led by Deputy Secretary General of the Regional Government, Director Trieu Chi Cuong to visit and discuss cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
At the meeting were representatives of leaders of Departments and branches: Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs, Information and Communications, Health, Industry and Trade and related units.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong welcomed the delegation to visit the Port city and affirmed the good friendly and cooperative relationship between Hai Phong and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for many years. In particular, after high-level visits between leaders of the two sides in 2025 and early 2026, many important common perceptions have been formed, opening a period of in-depth, substantive cooperation.

Introducing the development orientation, the Vice President emphasized that Hai Phong is focusing on promoting digital transformation, innovation and considering artificial intelligence as a key tool to improve governance capacity and promote the economy. The city wants to learn and discuss specific cooperation opportunities with Guangxi - a locality with outstanding strengths in data infrastructure.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed in depth the ability to apply AI in many strong areas of Hai Phong. Specifically, in media and entertainment, the city is interested in applying large language models (LLM) in digital content production and smart Vietnamese-Chinese translation tools. In healthcare, AI is expected to support image diagnosis and pharmaceutical development. In addition, solutions to optimize supply chains, smart seaport management, building virtual assistants to promote tourism and applying AI in large-scale agriculture are also key contents proposed for cooperation.

Director of Guangxi Big Data Development Department Trieu Chi Cuong thanked the respectful welcome of Hai Phong city leaders and highly appreciated the city's potential and determination in accessing new technology. The delegation is ready to share experiences, connect high-tech businesses and support Hai Phong in building a data and artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong pledged that Hai Phong would create the most favorable conditions and direct specialized agencies to coordinate closely with Guangxi to realize the exchange content into specific projects, bringing practical value to the business community and people of the two localities./.
