According to the report, in the past 10 years, agricultural mechanization and agricultural processing industry in Vietnam have developed significantly. The whole country has formed and developed an industrial system of processing and preserving agricultural products with over 7,500 industrial-scale establishments associated with export and tens of thousands of small, retail, and household agricultural product processing establishments. The agricultural product processing industry has reached the world average level. Growth in the agricultural product processing industry contributes to promoting the global economic integration of the agricultural industry, making an important contribution to increasing agricultural export turnover. Thanks to that, agricultural export turnover increased sharply, on average increasing by 8-10%/year, reaching 41.3 billion USD in 2019.
In the field of agricultural mechanization, the quantity, quality, and types of agricultural machinery and equipment applied in agricultural production have continuously increased over the years. Currently, the average driving force in agricultural production nationwide reaches about 2.4 horsepower/1 hectare of cultivation. The level of mechanization of some stages in agriculture tends to increase rapidly, such as: in the field of cultivation, land preparation for rice reaches 95%, sugarcane reaches over 90%. In the livestock sector, large-scale farms mechanize barns and provide food and water at over 90%; Environmental treatment reached 55%…
In Hai Phong, in recent years, thanks to promoting the application of synchronous industry in production and processing, it has contributed to reducing labor, saving costs, increasing productivity and economic efficiency. The level of mechanization of some stages in agricultural production tends to increase rapidly. Especially in the field of cultivation, land preparation, harvesting, and milling reached 100%; The stage of plant care and protection of rice and other crops reached 70%. Currently, the entire city has 20 cooperatives and mechanized service groups participating in the general production activities of local cooperatives.
Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for organizing this important conference. To achieve the goal of 2030, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry ranks among the top 10 countries in the world, and is a global center for deep processing and logistics of agricultural products; Concentrated agricultural areas with commodity production are all mechanized synchronously, moving towards automation. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to urgently coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to soon develop and submit to the Government for promulgation a Decree on mechanization, agricultural product processing and reduction of losses in agriculture to replace the Decision. Decree No. 68/2013/QD-TTg. Preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology to develop and complete a set of evaluation criteria for mechanization and agricultural processing technology, and a set of standards for innovation of agricultural machines and processed products. The Ministry of Industry and Trade implements the Key Mechanical Program focusing on a number of projects serving agricultural mechanization and reducing post-harvest losses. The Ministry of Science and Technology presides and coordinates with relevant ministries and agencies to supplement a separate National Science and Technology Program for the field of mechanization and agricultural product processing until 2030; Coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop and complete a set of evaluation criteria for mechanization and agricultural processing technology. The State Bank of Vietnam researches and directs fishc credit institutions balance capital sources to promptly meet the needs of agricultural and rural development; Strengthen connections between banks and businesses to remove difficulties in accessing credit capital, especially businesses and investment projects in agricultural product processing and mechanization for agriculture.
