At the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to assess that the strategic partnership between the two countries has developed to a new level, far-reaching, practical and effective.

The two Prime Ministers deeply exchanged opinions on major directions and specific measures to implement high-level agreements between the two countries; agreed to strengthen investment and trade relations, promote the implementation of "Mid and long-term vision of Vietnam - Japan agricultural cooperation"; Promote nuclear energy cooperation, especially in the construction of Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plant.

Regarding educational cooperation, the two Prime Ministers agreed to promote the Vietnam-Japan University project to be implemented soon from 2016.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced the decision to continue ODA aid worth 172 billion yen for 3 projects: Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Project Line No. 01 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien), Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant, a project to improve Ho Chi Minh City's water environment, brought Japanese ODA provided to Vietnam to a record level of more than 300 billion yen, equivalent to 2.5 billion USD in fiscal year 2015. The two Prime Ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the 110 billion USD Credit Fund for cooperation in developing high-quality infrastructure in Asia.

The two Prime Ministers also agreed to continue working closely at multilateral forums and international cooperation mechanisms, promoting the ratification and implementation of TPP, and negotiating the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), promoting reaching an agreement at the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris, France (COP21).

The two sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, emphasizing the importance of ensuring peace, freedom, security, safety, navigation and aviation on the basis of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, seriously and effectively implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, soon achieving the COC Code of Conduct, and no militarization in the East Sea.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also accepted Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's invitation to visit Vietnam again soon.
