On the morning of December 12, 2023, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam jointly organized the Festival of Business Organizations Creating Social Impact (SIB Connect 2023) within the framework of the project: "Supporting the ecosystem of businesses creating impact in Vietnam to respond to COVID-19" (ISEE-COVID project). Social impact organizations (SIBs) in Vietnam, especially businesses owned by disadvantaged people or working with disadvantaged people (women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, gender diverse groups...), and businesses with ideas to solve social and environmental issues are still facing many difficulties in their efforts to realize both the goals of generating profits while creating a positive impact on society and the environment. Although SIBs in Vietnam are still modest in number and small in scale, they have been recognized as contributing a positive role in implementing sustainable development goals, especially in the context of Vietnam's efforts to promote the application of sustainable business principles and models for domestic enterprises to help improve the quality of business.Businesses have more advantages when accessing foreign markets and accessing green capital sources.
Especially during the event, the White Book on business organizations creating social impact in Vietnam 2023 was launched for the first time, creating conditions for SIBs to be clearly identified, thereby improving the ability to benefit from support programs from the government and other stakeholders./.
