On the morning of March 14, at Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park, the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival Hai Phong - Nam Cau Kien 2026 officially opened. This is an important cultural and foreign event to strengthen friendship, increase understanding and promote sustainable cooperation between Hai Phong city and Japanese partners.

Attending the Opening Ceremony were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong; Third Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Hiromatsu Mitsutaka; representatives of Kitakyushu city, leaders of departments and branches of Hai Phong city and a large number of business communities and people of the two countries.
A vivid symbol of friendship

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the relationship between Hai Phong and Japan, especially the more than a decade-long sister relationship with Kitakyushu city, has brought many substantive results in the fields of environment, urban development and cultural exchange. This year's festival is a testament to the companionship between government and businesses in promoting people-to-people diplomacy.

The meaningful highlight of the program is the ceremony of planting 100 friendship cherry blossom trees donated by Tashiro Zouen Co., Ltd. (Japan). These cherry blossom trees, along with the Kyosei-no-niwa Japanese garden - the largest Japanese garden in an industrial park in Vietnam, have become a vivid symbol of the spirit of "Kyosei" (living together, growing together) between the two peoples.

Taking place on March 14 and 15, the festival brings a colorful Japanese cultural space with many unique experiential activities:Hanami space: Admire the only brilliant cherry blossoms in Nam Cau Kien. Art performance: Traditional Tea Ceremony, Yosakoi dance, Taiko drums, calligraphy and live painting performance. Experience youth culture: "Cool Japan" area with Manga, Anime, Cosplay attracts the participation of famous artists from Japan. Cuisine intersection: Enjoy the culinary quintessence of 02 countries at the street food village.
Connecting green industry cooperation

In addition to cultural elements, the festival is also an opportunity to introduce the model of Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park - a bright spot in circular economy and sustainable development. Mr. Pham Hong Diep, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHINEC Joint Stock Company, shared that Japan is not only a major investment partner with more than 6.6 billion USD of FDI capital in Hai Phong, but also a source of inspiration in terms of discipline and environmental responsibility. Through the event, the Organizing Committee hopes to attract more Japanese investors to build green industrial ecosystems, contributing to the city's sustainable development goals.
