Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan introduced some information about the socio-economic development achievements of Hai Phong city in the past year. Hai Phong is known for its large and modern development space and great potential in fields such as logistics with all 5 types of transportation. The highlight is the largest seaport system in the North, in which Lach Huyen Port is one of 20 deep-water ports in the world, planned to be able to accommodate large ships of up to 200,000 tons. Identifying three economic pillars: industry - high technology, seaport - logistics and tourism - trade, the city maintains a good double-digit growth momentum and is always one of the localitiesIt has the highest growth rate in Vietnam. Among the top most attractive localities for foreign investors, accumulated by March 2025, the total number of projects from Singaporean investors is 96 projects with a total investment capital of about 3.7 billion USD. The VSIP Industrial Park project established in 2020 is one of the symbols of cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in Hai Phong city. Regarding the potential to attract investment, currently, 14 Industrial Parks have been established in the city, of which most of the Industrial Parks have been filled. In the coming time, the city will continue to focus on developing 20 new Industrial Parks with a total area of more than 7,000 hectares according to the approved Plan.
