– After the Opening Session, on the afternoon of December 27, the Conference "Promoting resources of overseas Vietnamese, connecting localities and businesses" continued with 03 thematic sessions on "Green investment", "Human resource development" and "Supply chain development". Thematic sessions were attended byrepresentatives of agencies with key roles in advising and building policy and legal frameworks in various fields; Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, representatives of localities, business associations and especially overseas businessmen and intellectuals.
With over 40 enthusiastic presentations and speeches, the delegates highlighted the opportunities and challenges of Vietnam in general, localities in particular, as well as businesses in the context of the difficult world situation; Emphasizing the preparation of infrastructure, promoting economic development towards sustainability, promptly grasping major trends in circular economy, clean energy, high technology, digital transformation, and green transformation are inevitable trends. These are also the areas in which overseas Vietnamese have experience, knowledge and the ability to advise in the country, connect domestic and foreign resources, and are also consistent with the Government's priorities on improving institutions, infrastructure and human resources.
Representatives of businesses signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in various fields.The statements and content exchanged at the Conference showed the rich and abundant resources of overseas Vietnamese, not only material but also intellectual resources, brain matter, and "soft" resources. More importantly, the resources of overseas Vietnamese are increasing, capable of effectively contributing to the implementation of the country's development goals in both the immediate and long term. Delegates also raised suggestions and recommendations for ministries, branches, and localities, in order to continuously improve the position and potential of the community, creating more favorable conditions for the NVNONN community to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, as well as that of localities.
Signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in various fields
At the Conference, localities, associations, Vietnamese businesses and overseas Vietnamese with common interests actively met, exchanged, and cooperated. Under the witness of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, Leaders of Hai Phong City and Ambassadors, heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, Vietnamese businesses, associations, and overseas Vietnamese, signed 08 Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in various fields.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Conference, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang thanked the enthusiastic opinions of the delegates participating in the Conference, saying that this will be an important basis for the authorities to research and advise on the development of policies and laws, continue to improve the investment and business environment, and create more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the country's development. Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang also expressed her belief that the Conference is an important initial step, further promoting cooperation between overseas Vietnamese with localities and domestic businesses and bringing about specific projects, cooperation plans, investment and business opportunities in both Vietnamese and foreign markets.
