(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 23, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen district held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to renovate and embellish the May To Stadium area in Ngo Quyen district into a green park. This is a key project of Ngo Quyen district to celebrate the success of the 16th Congress of Hai Phong City Party Committee.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, city delegates included: Nguyen Xuan Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Dao Khanh Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee; Le Ngoc Tru, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Finance; leaders of the Departments of Planning, Investment, Construction, and Office of the City People's Committee.

The project to renovate and embellish the May To stadium area, Ngo Quyen district into a green park with a total research area of 3,843 hectares, park planning area of 2,095 hectares with a total investment of nearly 70 billion VND from career capital in 2020-2021. The project is assigned to the Ngo Quyen District Construction Investment Project Management Board to manage and operate, and is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year of Tan Suu 2021.
The project is implemented to complete the city's green urban planning; Expand green space, serve community activities, improve the quality of life of people in urban areas. After the project is completed, the city will have an additional green park right in the city center. Within the park campus, appropriate fitness and sports equipment will be arranged to serve people who come to have fun and exercise.

Speaking at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh emphasized: In the excited atmosphere of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army of the city at the great success of the 16th City Party Congress - the Congress has an important significance in evaluating a period of basic development, a breakthrough, creating a premise as well as determining the direction of operations for the next term to build and develop the city. In Hai Phong, in the spirit of Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo, the commencement of the project to renovate and embellish the May To stadium area is very important, meeting new practical requirements with the purpose of serving the lives of the city's people better. Thereby respondg the basic criteria of a special urban area, aiming to build Hai Phong into a modern, livable city in the region and Asia. This event is also considered the first step in implementing the Congress's Resolution with a project associated with people's livelihood and the development of the city.
The project will be implemented in a short period of time and will be completed and put into use before the Lunar New Year of Tan Suu 2021. Therefore, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh requested the authorities to focus on doing well, ensuring aesthetics, on schedule, and quality of the project. Emphasizing that the green park creates a harmonious ecosystem and is a beautiful highlight of the city, the Permanent Vice Chairman requested that when putting the project into use, district leaders and functional units need to have a plan to maintain and ensure full conditions to best serve the city's people.
