– On the afternoon of October 12, at the Maritime and Service Industrial Park (DEEP C II B), the Inauguration Ceremony of tesa Site Hai Phong Factory officially took place. With a production capacity of up to 40 million m2 of adhesive tape per year, tesa Hai Phong Factory will flexibly meet the rapidly growing needs of the Asian market, especially in the fields of automotive and electronics industries.
Attending the Inauguration Ceremony were Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien; Representatives of leaders of functional departments, branches and Hai An district.

The project has a total investment of 55 million Euro, building a 70,000 m2 factory in DEEP C II B Industrial Park. Groundbreaking on January 28, 2022, the project's goal is to increase production capacity and supply to the Asian market - one of the most strongly developing markets today. This move is part of the company's strategy to expand its market and shorten the distance to customers and suppliers.
Tesa SE is a multinational company, tesa develops innovative tapes and self-adhesive system solutions for various industries, commercial customers and end users. Currently, tesa currently operates 13 production facilities worldwide, including large factories in Germany (Hamburg, Offenburg), Italy, the United States, and China. Among them, there are more than 130 tesa adhesive tape products that can be applied to cars and more than 70 adhesive tape products used in smartphones. In the printing and construction industries, tesa is always reaching new segments and countries with its special adhesive tape products.

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Mr. Norman Goldberg, CEO of tesa SE said: "In order to expand its presence in the Asian region, tesa officially inaugurated a new factory in Hai Phong. This is part of tesa SE's strategy to expand production according to geographical zones, increase production capacity and optimize the supply chain, to ensure reliable supply readiness in the region in terms of both products as well as transportation capacity and purchasing raw materials”.
In the first phase, tesa Site Hai Phong Factory will recruit about 130 employees/workers to work here, creating job opportunities for the local community. Especially in the fields of engineering and manufacturing.

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien expressed his joy when seeing that the Factory has been completed and officially put into operation today. This project will help the city's human resources have the opportunity to access technological know-how, in-depth research areas and the ability to innovate and develop products. Among the projects of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hai Phong, tesa SE's project is of great interest to Hai Phong city and has high expectations to become a driving force project to promote investment and trade growth between Germany and Hai Phong City.

In recent years, Hai Phong has always been in the top of the country in attracting foreign investment. By the end of September 2023, foreign investment attraction has reached more than 3 billion USD, ranking first in the country. Hai Phong has received many expectations from the Central Government in developing the city to become a modern, smart and sustainable industrial city of Southeast Asian stature.
The Head of the Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone wishes and requests that the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam continue to pay more attention and support to Hai Phong City in areas such as: energy conversion, green and renewable energy development, vocational training and education, digital transformation, manufacturing industry... Calling for German businesses and investors to come and invest in new projects in the City, forming an ecosystem of German businesses in Hai Phong. In particular, we hope that tesa Group will have a plan to expand production in the near future and will have a tesa research and development center in Hai Phong.
