(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 28, the People's Committee of Hai Phong city and the People's Committee of Thai Binh province held the Inauguration Ceremony of the Hoa River bridge connecting Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city and Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.

The leaders visited the bridge project immediately after cutting the ribbon.The Hoa River Bridge project was built to replace the currently degraded and damaged pontoon bridge to improve service capacity, ensure traffic safety, and gradually complete the traffic network connecting urban and rural areas in the southern region of Hai Phong city, connecting with the coastal area of Thai Binh province to form an inter-provincial traffic connection system.
The completed and put into use project is expected to improve service capacity, ensure the ability to exploit over 3,000 converted vehicles/day and night, ensure traffic safety, shorten the transportation distance between Hai Phong city and the coastal area of Thai Binh province by over 30km compared to before, contributing to reducing traffic pressure through National Highway 10.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung spoke at the Inauguration Ceremony.Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045, determined that "Hai Phong must be the driving force for development of the Northern region and the whole country", with that great responsibility right after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 45, Standing Committee. The Hai Phong City Party Committee proactively worked with the Standing Committees of the provinces: Thai Binh, Hai Duong and Quang Ninh. Accordingly, localities focused on discussing and agreeing to build bridges across the river to connect Hai Phong with localities, specifically: building Hoa River bridge connecting Hai Phong with Thai Binh; Build Dinh bridge and Quang Thanh bridge connecting Hai provincePositive; Construction of Lai Xuan bridge and Ben Rung bridge connecting Quang Ninh province, with a total value of the above 5 projects estimated at about 5,000 trillion VND, of which Hai Phong city will invest in building bridges and roads leading to the bridge, localities will invest in site clearance funds and renovate and invest in roads connecting to the bridge.
Today's inauguration ceremony of Hoa River Bridge aims to concretize the working program between the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City and the Standing Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee with a total project value of nearly 200 billion. After more than 7 months of urgent construction, the project has now been completed, contributing to improving the connection between Hai Phong city, Thai Binh province and the Northern Delta region. Along with newly completed projects in Hai Phong city such as Dang bridge, Han bridge, and the road connecting Lang Am bridge to Nhan Muc bridge, the project will create favorable conditions for people to travel and contribute to promoting socio-economic development between the two localities.
Chairman Nguyen Van Tung said that to promote the effectiveness of the project, Hai Phong city will continue to upgrade and expand the road connecting Hoa River bridge to Provincial Road 354 and the road connecting Lang Am bridge to the coastal road; At the same time, in early 2020, construction will begin on Dinh bridge and Quang Thanh bridge connecting to Hai Duong province, Lai Xuan bridge and Ben Rung bridge connecting to Quang Ninh province.
