In recent days, Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company along with related units have continuously organized trial ferry runs at Dong Bai ferry terminal.
According to the plan, starting from 5:00 a.m. on March 1, 2024, the first ferry of Dong Bai ferry terminal will officially come into operation, replacing Got ferry terminal. With modern facilities and higher transportation capacity, putting the new Dong Bai ferry terminal into operation is expected to overcome congestion at Got ferry terminal, especially during peak periods, creating convenience for people and tourists when coming to Cat Ba island. According to statistics from the Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company, currently the average number of passengers passing through the Got - Cai Vieng ferry port per day is about over 3,700 passengers, the average number of vehicles passing through the ferry per day is about nearly 750 vehicles.
