Delegates cut the ribbon to officially open Thailand Product Week 2021.
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 8, at the City's International Exhibition Fair Center, the Department of International Trade Promotion, Royal Thai Ministry of Commerce - Trade Office of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi coordinated with Vinexad Company to open the 2021 Thai Product Week in Hai Phong, the program starts from April 8, 2021 until the end of the day. April 11, 2021. Attending and cutting the opening ribbon were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho; Ms. Morakot Janemathukorn, Charge d'Affaires of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi; and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and units of the city.

Thai Product Week 2021 in Hai Phong has the participation of 35 businesses officially importing Thai products into Vietnam, along with the Thai Investment Department and the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Businesses and units displayed 60 booths, introducing to Hai Phong people and tourists rich products, diverse in type and good quality. This is also the 6th time the Department of International Trade Promotion, Royal Thai Ministry of Commerce - Trade Office of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi has organized the Thai Product Week in Hai Phong and is held on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1976 - 2021).

At the Opening Ceremony, Ms. Morakot Janemathukorn, Charge d'Affaires of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi, affirmed that although the COVID-19 pandemic has limited travel between the two countries, Thai businesses still affirm their desire to bring the best Thai products and services to the Vietnamese people to strengthen economic cooperation, thereby bringing benefits to the two countries as well as to the two peoples.

Welcoming the event, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho emphasized that Thailand Product Week 2021 is a good opportunity for investors and businesses in Hai Phong city to meet, exchange experiences, and expand cooperative relations to promote and increase two-way import-export turnover between Vietnam and Thailand. In recent years, economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand has been an impressive highlight in the bilateral partnership. Vietnam and Thailand have upgraded to an enhanced strategic partnership since 2015. Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN, while Vietnam is Thailand's third largest trading partner in ASEAN in 2020.
The Vice Chairman said that many large Thai corporations have invested in the retail system and built trust in the quality of products and goods in the city through the MM Mega Market supermarket system, Go Vietnam, Nguyen Kim electronics supermarket...
