On the afternoon of April 7, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh chaired a meeting with relevant sectors and units to hear reports on the implementation of the Plan to organize a Conference to promote the opening of air routes to Hai Phong city and preparations for the inauguration of Cat Bi International Airport.

According to the report of the Bridge Project Management Board, implementing the direction of the City People's Committee, phase 1 of the Project includes: building a new runway, aircraft apron and aviation equipment systems that will have to be completed and put into operation on May 13, 2016. The Project Management Board has directed contractors to apply technical solutions, arrange enough human resources and equipment to complete the items according to the set schedule, ensure the flight plan to calibrate the equipment on April 27, 2016 and put the project items into official operation on May 11, 2016. The Project Management Board also requested the City People's Committee to consider and soon organize a meeting with the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietnam Airports Corporation... and related units to discuss the inauguration of the project.
Regarding the plan to organize a conference to promote the opening of air routes to Hai Phong city, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the City People's Committee Office in a very urgent time to proactively coordinate to promulgate the conference organization plan. The conference is expected to be held in mid-April 2016 at the City Convention Center with about 150 delegates attending. The Vice President requested that branches and units assigned specific tasks in the plan must be highly responsible, fully and promptly carry out assigned tasks so that the conference can take place with quality and content assurance. The Vice Chairman affirmed that organizing the conference will contribute to strengthening service connectionstourism services, goods trade, cultural exchange between the Red River Delta and Northern Coastal regions with other localities and regions domestically and internationally; opportunities to attract investors to Hai Phong to learn about the market, invest in business; On the other hand, this is also an opportunity to promote Hai Phong, creating an atmosphere of excitement and confidence for the city's people.
