After more than a year and a half in operation, recently, the Project is ready to respond to risks, natural disasters, and restore businesses (DN) of Non-Governmental Organizations Peace Winds governmentAmerica conducted a summary of recent activities and a consultation workshop with project partners. Mr. John Sander - Project Director chaired the seminar.
With the goal of strengthening overall capacity in preparing and responding to risks from natural and man-made disasters for businesses and organizations in Hai Phong, Peace Winds America has recently promoted propaganda about negative impacts and unpredictable damages from incidents such as floods, storms, fires, explosions, strikes, labor accidents...
To help businesses and organizations develop plans to minimize risks and restore operations in the shortest time after an incident, the project coordinates with city departments and branches, VCCI, Young Business Association, Cooperative Alliance... to organize training for more than 100 officials and leaders of 57 businesses in the city in all fields such as construction, shipbuilding, liquefied petroleum gas business, environment, textiles, seaports... At the conference, representatives Two enterprises, Lisemco 2 Joint Stock Company and Mecta Joint Stock Company, highly appreciated the capacity, necessity and effectiveness of the project for their units in particular and the business community in general.
Continuing to promote the results achieved, the project's goal in the coming time is to continue promoting communication to raise awareness and capacity in responding to risks and natural disasters in businesses and communities; Organize 5-6 training courses for about 50 businesses/month; Coordinate with organizations and city departments to establish a Project Coordination Committee to promote project activities.
In the immediate future, the project will coordinate with the Management Board of Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve to pilot a public-private partnership model in strengthening risk reduction policies, aiming to be ready to respond to risks and natural disasters; At the same time, organize training for businesses in the area.
On this occasion, the Project also awarded certificates to outstanding businesses and individuals who have made positive contributions to the project's activities.
