Support bringing agricultural production households to the e-commerce platform through digital platforms to expand domestic and international markets

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – City People's Committee issued a Support Plan to bring agricultural production households to the e-commerce platform to promote the development of agricultural and rural digital economy in the city.

Digital transformation for agricultural production households is a breakthrough development, contributing to  supporting  farming households in consuming agricultural products. especially in the context affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Aims at the goal of innovating processes and technology, improving production efficiency, and reorganizing large-scale production according to the production chain linked to consumption. Supporting agricultural production households, individual business households, cooperatives, and cooperative groups to register to participate in e-commerce platforms will contribute to connecting, promoting, introducing, and consuming agricultural products, strengthening new distribution channels in the city through digital platforms, expanding domestic and international markets. Accelerating the consumption of agricultural products, contributing to avoiding congestion of agricultural products during peak harvest, helping farmers maintain agricultural product prices and avoiding price pressures from traders.

Along with that, through e-commerce platforms and digital platforms, we will support providing a lot of useful information to agricultural households such as: agricultural market information, demand forecast and agricultural production capacity, weather information, crops, seeds, fertilizers, branded products, raw materials, and input materials with quality assurance, along with a number of preferential policies when purchasing products, raw materials, and supplies. E-commerce platforms participating in the Plan to support agricultural production households promote agricultural products, sell and buy transactions on the floor, include: Postmart.vn platform (Vietnam Postal Corporation) and Voso.vn platform (Viettel Postal Joint Stock Corporation).

According to the City People's Committee's plan, in 2021, focus on supporting qualified agricultural production households to be listed on the e-commerce platform according to the set goals; In 2022, we will promote support for agricultural production households to trade on the floor and support the remaining eligible households to list on the floor.

The National Digital Transformation Program issued by the Prime Minister in 2020 has identified agriculture as one of eight priority areas for implementation to promote growth and development of the agricultural and rural economy. On July 21, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision 1034/QD-BTTTT approving the Support Plan for bringing agricultural production households to the e-commerce platform, promoting the development of the agricultural and rural digital economy.
