Hai Phong is determined to open international flights to Korea

On the morning of September 21, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Binh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, along with representatives of leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, Department of Finance, Department of Finance, leaders of Cat Bi International Airport, leaders of airlines received and worked with Mr. Han Dong Gun, Director of WJM Group, and the working group on promoting the opening of international flights from Hai Phong - Korea.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Binh introduced the development of transport and urban infrastructure and investment waves in the city. Currently, Hai Phong's economic development indicators are all exceeding the same period last year and exceeding the set plan. In the first 9 months of 2016, Hai Phong attracted the highest investment capital of 2.7 billion USD in the country. After the recent Investment Promotion Conference, Hai Phong had 27 investment commitments with an estimated capital of nearly 13 billion USD, showing the strong development of Hai Phong in the coming time. Also during the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee happily shared the results achieved in the city's administrative reform, demonstrating the potential, efforts, and determination to strongly direct the building of a constructive government that best serves people and businesses.

In the coming time, Hai Phong will continue to assert itself as the economic center of the Northern Coastal region, so traffic and travel demand will develop strongly, including air traffic. Currently, Cat Bi International Airport has been completed and put into use, confirming the huge demand for domestic and international travel. In addition, recently the People's Committee of Hai Phong city signed a decision to support airlines opening new flight routes with each international flight route being 10 billion VND. Hai Phong city has prepared infrastructure, legal basis, and support policies to open flight routes. The Vice Chairman emphasized that the flight from Hai Phong to Korea is a great potential to meet the friendly cooperation between Hai Phong and Korean localities and investors. InIn the coming time, to show determination, city leaders hope to have a visit and work with the Korean side on opening this flight route. We hope to receive support from Mr. Han Dong Gun so that the opening of the flight route will be a success.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Han Dong Gun, Director of WJM Group congratulated the success of the Investment Promotion Conference of Hai Phong city. He said that through visits and working in the city, he realized that the city has a lot of potential for development and the need to open international flight routes is huge. He supported Hai Phong city to open a flight route to Korea, hoping that in the near future the leaders of both sides will have the opportunity to discuss and agree so that the opening of this new flight route will soon become a reality.
