(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of October 1, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh chaired a meeting and contacted Chinese businesses operating in the city. Also attending were leaders of city departments and branches and nearly 100 guests from businesses.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh provided quick information on the socio-economic situation of Hai Phong city in the first 9 months of 2019: the city's socio-economic indicators had many outstanding results, especially the gross regional product (GRDP) reached 16.42%; The index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 24.03%; Export turnover is estimated at 11.66 billion USD; Goods output through Hai Phong port reached 90.56 million tons; attracted over 5.91 million tourists. The total number of FDI projects in Hai Phong is currently 673 projects with a total capital of 17.52 billion USD. As for China's direct investment activities, there are currently 216 valid projects with a total investment capital of 3.277 billion USD.
