Nearly 120 businesses participated in the Conference "CEO Forum - Taking off globally with Amazon"

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 25, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with Amazon Global Selling Vietnam to organize the Conference "CEO Forum - Taking off globally with Amazon".

Attending the Conference were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong; leaders of the city's Department of Industry and Trade; Amazon Global Selling Vietnam leader; City departments, branches and units; Associations, Enterprises with experience in exporting, manufacturing, domestic enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises of Hai Phong and neighboring provinces; Cooperatives and business households producing OCOP products in the city.

In the context of Vietnam's deep integration with the world economy, along with opportunities from new generation Free Trade Agreements, participating in the online export and import system and cross-border e-commerce (e-commerce) channels is an effective solution, opening up many opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to expand customer files, increase the scope of market contact, improve business capacity and the value of the quality of goods originating in Vietnam, gradually bringing trade Vietnamese brands reach consumers around the world.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

In Hai Phong city, e-commerce exchange revenue in recent years has accounted for about 16-18% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the entire city, reaching an average growth rate of 23 - 25%/year. Every year, 55-60% of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the commercial sector participate in domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms.

This conference "CEO Forum - Taking off globally with Amazon" is an opportunity for businesses in the city to raise awareness about cross-border e-commerce, experience implementing online export from countries in the region and from industry experts to encourage and support businesses to develop international business, bringing Vietnamese products and brands to customers globally through cross-border e-commerce.

At the Conference, experts from Amazon Global Selling Vietnam introduced an overview of cross-border e-commerce, the potentials for Vietnamese businesses in general and Hai Phong businesses in particular, cross-border e-commerce trends, introduction to cross-border e-commerce with Amazon, opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese businesses, success factors for Vietnam's key export industry when participating in cross-border e-commerce with Amazon; Selling journey on Amazon; Discussion Journey to accompany Vietnamese businesses participating in cross-border e-commerce with Amazon... thereby helping Hai Phong export businesses promote export activities through the Amazon e-commerce platform.

Mr. Trinh Khac Toan, Director of the Northern Region of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam, spoke at the Conference.

According to statistics from Amazon Global Selling, the number of products sold by Vietnamese businesses on Amazon has increased by more than 300% in the past 5 years. Thousands of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises are now exporting through Amazon, with the number of businesses achieving annual revenue of over 1 million USD skyrocketing nearly tenfold.
