(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of June 6, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh and leaders of departments, branches, localities and relevant units on the ground inspected the progress of the implementation of the Binh Cau Southern Traffic Intersection Construction Investment Project.
This is a key transportation infrastructure project of the city with the goal of being completed and put into use by the end of 2019. However, up to this point, site clearance work has not met general progress requirements. Currently, the area of land handed over for the project is more than 85,132 square meters (72.95%).
Directing at the project site, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Binh assessed that although local industries had made many efforts, site clearance work did not meet the requirements. The Vice Chairman requested Hong Bang district to urgently review and coordinate with functional branches and the City People's Committee Office to completely resolve problems and problems related to site clearance work.
On An Duong district's side, up to now site clearance work is behind schedule compared to commitment, affecting the contractor's construction progress. The Standing Vice Chairman requested the Secretary and Chairman of An Duong district to directly inspect and direct site clearance work, and at the same time be responsible to the Chairman of the City People's Committee on this issue.
For the Project Management Board, continue to closely follow and work with the Vietnam Railways Department to resolve procedures related to organizing the construction of overpasses and railway underpasses to ensure the progress of the project.
The Standing Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with the Project Management Board to urgently carry out the appraisal and approval work to soon start the construction investment project of the road connecting the Nam Cau Binh intersection to the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5 in accordance with the direction of the Standing Party Committee and the City People's Committee. In addition, the Permanent Vice Chairman also noted that construction contractors during the construction process must absolutely ensure labor safety issues, traffic order and safety, environmental sanitation in the project construction area...
The South Binh Cau Intersection Project is a level II traffic project with a scale including: the main items are a direct overpass in the direction of Binh bridge, Dai Dai 2 road and an underpass in the direction of Bach Dang - Hong Bang street. There will be a different level intersection with the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line at locations Km98+090 (overpass), Km98+250 (underpass) and maintain the intersection at the current level. at Km98+250 to serve vehicles from Hong Bang street to Hung Vuong street going to Hai Phong city center and vice versa.
