(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has just agreed to the investment policy of the Tam Bac River embellishment project from Lac Long bridge to Hoang Van Thu bridge.
With the goal of renovating and expanding roads along Tam Bac River, Cam River and Nguyen Thuong Hien Street, the Project will improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, creating an important traffic network of Hong Bang district.

The project also contributes to perfecting the city's transportation system, synchronously building the technical infrastructure system, undergrounding and replacing the entire line (power supply, lighting, communication...) to ensure the landscape of the area, creating a highlight in the architectural landscape to serve the people, attract tourists and be a walking space in the future.
The project was decided by the City People's Council in the list of key projects in 2021 in Resolution No. 37/NQ-HDND dated December 22, 2020. In accordance with the city's main tasks and solutions in Resolution No. 09-NQ/DH dated October 15, 2020 of the 16th City Party Congress, term 2021 - 2025:“Allocating reasonable resources to continue promoting the embellishment and upgrading of central urban areas, especially urban areas along rivers flowing through the inner city, creating landscapes and public works plus social welfare with high cultural value”.
Accordingly, the project has the scale of building an embankment along the Tam Bac river with a pre-stressed sheet pile structure to ensure a minimum width of the river bed of 63m, total embankment length of about 0.44km. Renovate and expand Tam Bac street (section from Nguyen Tri Phuong street to Mother Thuy Doi) with a width of 18.0m.
Construction of 01 embankment along the Cam River from the Navy's mother to Hoang Van Thu bridge using a pre-stressed sheet pile structure with anchors with a total length of about 0.43km. Expanding Tam Bac road adjacent to Ben Binh (from Thuy Doi's mother to Cu Chinh Lan); renovate and expand Ben Binh road (section from Cu Chinh Lan street to the intersection between Ben Binh street and Cam riverside road) with a width of about 34m.
Renovate and embellish the current Nguyen Thuong Hien street (section from Ben Binh street to Cu Chinh Lan street) and lengthen (newly open) Nguyen Thuong Hien street (section from Cu Chinh Lan street to Tam Bac street) with a width of 13.5m.
Build a synchronous technical infrastructure system, a green park unified with the city center strip and both sides of the Tam Bac River from Lac Long bridge to Tam Ky park.
Construction of technical infrastructure for the Resettlement Area on a land area of about 2.28 hectares in Kien Thiet Residential Group, So Dau Ward.
The total project investment is expected to be about 572,355 million VND from the city budget; Implementation time: 2021 - 2024.
